DIME volunteers supporting the Doherty band program

A message from the board

DIME exists for one reason: our kids. We are parents and guardians who show up early, stay late, and believe every Doherty musician deserves the chance to perform at their very best. Whether you can give an hour, a meal, or a donation — there is a place for you in this program.

Stephanie Moore

President

“Band mom of five years and counting”

Hi! My name is Stephanie Moore and I'm proud to serve as the President of DIME. I've been a band mom for five years now, and it's been such a fun (and busy!) journey. My son is a freshman in both marching band and symphonic band, and my daughter graduated from Doherty last year, so I guess you could say Doherty has become a pretty big part of our family! I'm also a first-grade teacher, so supporting kids and cheering them on is pretty much what I do every day. I'm excited to give back to the Doherty music program, work alongside our amazing families and volunteers, and help make this a great experience for all of our students.

Leisha Pielak

Vice President

“Once a band kid, always a band kid”

Leisha's mom and dad showed her the importance of having supportive band parents firsthand. They seldom missed a performance and volunteered as much as possible. Now it's her turn to play that role. Leisha is serving a back-to-back sentence in the band parent world, with her oldest graduating this year, and her youngest an incoming freshman thereafter. When she isn't orchestrating all things “Pit Crew” related, Leisha enjoys spending her spare time… wait, there's spare time during marching season?

Holli Morain

Vice President

“Band kid turned band mom!”

Unlike her front and center front ensemble son, Holli prefers to be a “behind the scenes” volunteer for the band program. Hobbies include travel (to various stadiums and gyms around Colorado to watch marching band and winter guard competitions), reading (in the car waiting for the percussion section to finish loading and unloading the equipment trucks), and hanging out with her kid (and his 70 closest friends!).

Enid Ruiz-Mattei

Treasurer

“Graduation didn't save me!”

Band mom who survived 2026 graduation, but somehow never escaped. With one “heavy metal player” and one kid who played with rifles, Enid became the volunteer ninja and all-around supporter of both band and guard. Part of her “exercise” routine includes running the numbers as DIME Booster Club treasurer and chasing down receipts across the booster universe. And if you hear cowbell at the games, don't worry! It's just her strategic method of drawing a crowd to the merch table.
